Dear Boys

The Mizuho High School men's basketball team was non-existent when Aikawa Kazuhiko transfered from Tendouji High. Mizuho had only four members in the team after the previous coach left when he was attacked by one of the players, Fujiwara Takumi. The team was banned from competing in any tournament for a year as a consequence. Aikawa's persistence gave hope to the four remaining players Fujiwara, Miura Ranmanru, Ishii Tsutomu and Dobashi Kenji. They would have to face opposition from school officials however who are wary of another embarrassing incident. But Aikawa was not just a good player. He was rumored to be a genius and can jump higher than most people. Perhaps there is hope yet to redeem the basketball club's image. Mizuho boys' basketball team would have to overcome personal issues, face confrontations from hurt upperclassmen and most especially endure the ridicule of other teams. Mizuho now has five players but they are inexperienced, undermanne...

Kuroko no Basket 3rd Season

In this third installment of Kuroko no Basket, Seirin High is enjoying its win over Yousen High. They did an interview for Basketball Monthly and received well-deserved attention from basketball fans. But their journey is far from over. With a few teams left in the Winter Cup, the competition is getting tougher. Kagami Taiga meets Haizaki Shougo of Fukuda Sougou Academy while on his way to visit his old friend Himuro Tatsuya. Haizaki was harassing Alex while Himuro tried to rescue her. During the confrontation, Kagami learns that Haizaki was once a starter at Teiko and played with the Generation of Miracles but was kicked out and then replaced by Kise Ryouta. As it happens, Kise and Haizaki face off when Kaijou High meets Fukuda Sougou Academy in the second episode. Whoever wins the match will advance to the semi-finals. Despite Haizaki's violent nature however, he is not the biggest threat to Seirin. They have yet to face Rakuzan led by Akashi Seijuurou, the forme...

San Antonio Spurs 2014 NBA Champions

Even more than months after the San Antonio Spurs won their fifth title, I still feel like everything is a dream. As a long-time fan of Tim Duncan, last year's loss to Miami Heat still feels like a nightmare whenever I think about it. It took me more than a month to recover after that loss. I'm just a fan and I felt terrible so I can't imagine what it was like for the players. People who did not believe and appreciate them said it was the end of the line for the "old" guys. Duncan and Manu Ginobili were passe. They said some might retire or go to other teams, but they proved them wrong again. Of course I didn't wanna believe all the bad things they wrote but it was not easy to keep thinking like that after that kind of loss. They said it would not be easy to recover from that nightmare. Of course it wouldn't be, but how the players will deal with that will say a lot about them individually and their spirit as a team. Whatever the unbelieve...

My Humble Spurs Items Collection

I have a few Spurs item that I've collected in the past few years. The Tim Duncan mug is the most special (and most useful) in my collection. Championship VCDs  Magazines with Tim Duncan on the covers A children's storybook Plastic folder Spring notebook Me wearing my Duncan jersey

Tim Duncan's Smile

Posted this on my deviantArt. I remember the first Spurs game I watched. That was 10 years ago. The Lakers were about to knock out the Spurs from the playoffs. I was more impressed with the silent Duncan than with the flashy duo of Kobe and Shaq. They were defeated but I became a loyal fan since then. Link:  http://fav.me/d4sakh9

Slamduncan

Who is the next Michael Jordan? The list of names might go on forever but this player I'm going to talk about is not likely to be a candidate. Jordan undoubtedly is the best player to play the guard position and perhaps Tim Duncan might be the best power forward to play in the NBA.. He's not one of the flashiest players like Vince Carter or Shaq or Kobe; he doesn't have Allen Iverson's stutter crossover and he's not even among the most popular faces in the league. That is why some NBA fans are surprised when told of his accomplishments in his eight-year career. Duncan embodies the philosophy of pure basketball yet inly a few could appreciate him. But who really is this player? Why is he underrated? And what is behind this silent unmovable force that placed the San Antonio Spurs as the 2005 champions? After Jordan's second retirement I lost interest in the NBA. But on May17, 2002, one week after my birthday, a man with a blank expression on his face caught my eye...
